Introducing Phrase Play #1...
February 10, 2014
I hope you're enjoying all of the 7th Anniversary festivities at Papertrey this month! If you haven't already, be sure to check out Nichole's blog for all of the details about new products, contests, and giveaways.
I'm here to share a few projects using one of the new sets being released this month. It's called Phrase Play #1. This is the first of what will be a year long series featuring a cute word card die along with a coordinating sentiment set. It's no secret that I love word dies and use them all the time, so I am super excited about this series! The new stamps and die will be available from the Papertrey site at 10pm EST on February 15th.
Of course I have a few projects using the new die and coordinating sentiment set. This first one is just a very basic use of this set. I diecut the Phrase Play #1 die from white cardstock and stamped some BB: Super Stripes using Aqua Mist ink.
I backed it with some Enchanted Evening Cardstock and embellished the "o" with a diecut heart and flower. The sentiment stamped in the bottom opening is from the coordinating Phrase Play set.

For my next card I embellished the Phrase Play #1 card a little more. This time I filled the negative portions with lots of different cardstocks. I also used the bottom portion to create a shaker.
Notice the cute little buttons? Those are from a new die set this month called Button Stacks. I heat embossed the smaller ones with clear powder to give them a little shine. The "sunshine" sentiment from the Phrase Play set was stamped on clear cardstock using white Staz On. In the background I used the Sunrise 2 Impression plate and stamped some sunrays from Hello Sunshine. Oh, and notice the color of the Phrase Play card?!? Tropical Teal! I love it.

For my last card I tried something a little more artsy. I used the Phrase Play die with my embossing mats to impress the design instead of cutting it. Then I diecut the Phrase Play card from typing paper to use as a mask that I could mist over.
I heat embossed the "true love" sentiment using gold embossing powder and added some diecut gold hearts and glitter along the bottom.

That wraps up my projects for today, but there's a whole lot to see this week and I'll be back here on Wednesday!
