Love is in the details...
December 14, 2013
It's group post #2 for the December Papertrey Ink countdown. Today the team is featuring all sorts of love-themed projects, focusing on many of the new dies being released this month, along with several of the new stamp sets. There are so many great new things! Everything I mention in new in this post will be available for purchase on December 15th from the Papertrey Ink site.
Nichole challenged us to create a Valentine's project, an anniversary card, and a wedding card.
Let's start with the Valentine project. I used the new Valentine Stitches dies to create a fun and trendy bracelet which is complete with coordinating packaging, which I created using the Boutique Accessories dies and stamps.
I diecut the arrow from the Valentine Stitches die set from wood veneer. I then stitched it with some bright colored embroidery floss, even incorporating some neon colors. To give the Boutique Accessory card a little valentine flair, I diecut one of the new Limitless Layers: Heart Stitches dies on the front of the card.
To turn my stitched arrow into a bracelet I attached it to a bit of gold chain, which was a necklace I picked up at a garage sale last summer with the intent of creating something with it...this was the perfect chance! I could see this being the perfect little Valentine treat for a teen or tween girl.

Now let's move on to my wedding themed projects. I used the new Limitless Layers: Heart Stitches dies to create some dimensional hearts on both a card and coordinating tag.
I kept my color palette very wedding-like with just white and gold. For the inside of the hearts I diecut some gold foil cardstock and added a bit of texture with the Woodgrain Impression Plate. Notice that new tag shape? Yes, that's the new Tag Sale #9. I diecut the bottom layer from white cardstock and the smaller top layer was cut from vellum for a pretty, soft layered look.
For the card I used more of the Limitless Layers: Heart Stitches dies. I added some twine and a few leaf and flower diecuts from the new The Best Is Yet To Be set.

Now for my anniversary project. I don't usually think of hearts being masculine, but they can go that way when they're cut from wood veneer and corrugate. I used the Limitless Layers: Heart Stitching dies here once again.
I stamped on the wood veneer with dark chocolate ink and it almost resembles wood-burning. Just a quick and easy card.
