Introducing Happy Hearts...
December 13, 2013
Welcome to the first group post day of the December Papertrey Ink countdown. Today the team is showcasing a new stamp set called Happy Hearts and a coordinating Cover Plate die. These new products will be available for purchase from the Papertrey Ink site as of 10pm on December 15.
Nichole challenged each of us to create two projects to share with you today. One that uses the "frame" portion of the Cover Plate, and one that uses just the hearts.
My first project uses the Cover Plate:Hearts frame. I used it to create a shaker card in which the entire card front is a shaker. I backed it with a panel of Clearly Creative Cardstock which I outlined with foam adhesive and filled with mica flakes and tiny heart diecuts (the punch-outs from the new Scattered Hearts Banner die), then covered with another panel of clear cardstock.
I also took some of the hearts, stamped them with the coordinating stamp set and tucked them inside the frame. The sentiment is from the Happy Hearts set as well. The strip of cute patterned paper is from the Fancy Pants Be Loved collection (couldn't find it in stock anywhere yet, but hopefully soon!)
The result is a fun combination of a clear-front and a shaker card.
My second card uses the heart shapes themselves, this time paired with the Bubble Talk dies.
I diecut the bubbles from vellum for a light and airy look. This sentiment is from the new Happy Hearts set as well.
That wraps up my projects today using the new Happy Hearts line up, but be sure to hop around to the other girls to see what they've whipped up!
