Halloween Treats & Sweets Revisited...
September 01, 2013
Good morning and welcome September! The first of the month and that means it's time for the Papertrey Ink Senior Team challenge. Every month we bring you fresh inspiration for a previously released stamp set. this month we are creating Halloween treats using the Halloween Treats & Sweets stamp set and coordinating dies.
When I'm looking to create kid-friendly treats for holidays like Halloween and the like, I'm usually looking to fill three main requirements...quick, inexpensive, and of course, cute! I think these little treats fit the bill. I combined the images and dies from Halloween Treats Sweets with the new Coffee Cozy die to create these cute little critter cups!
I bought some cute polka dot cups in the party section of the dollar store near me. These cups are a little small for the die, so it slides right up to the top, which I thought worked really cute for these. It fit snuggly at the top of my cup, but if yours are a little smaller you could add a bit of adhesive to hold it in place.
They were very easy to put together. I diecut the two pieces of the coffee cozy and put scor-tape on the flap. Then before adhering the two pieces together, I inserted the bat wings or the spider legs. This makes them pop out on the sides of the cup. Also, I realized it after I made a few (and after I took this photo) that if you also sandwich a length of twine in between those layers it makes for a quick and easy little handle. Much easier than punching holes to tie the string through.
Here's the finished spider. The tag was cut using the Tremendous Tags die and stamped with a sentiment from the Halloween Treats & Sweets set.
The pumpkin...
White for a skeleton...
And the black cat. (wouldn't this same idea be cute for Easter? I think the cat face would also work for a bunny if you changed the ears!)
Thanks for stopping by to check out my projects today. For more inspiration using the Halloween Treats & Sweets products, be sure to hop around to the other Sr Team members...
