Papertrey Ink July 2013 Release...

Well, we've come to the end of another Papertrey Ink countdown.  Tonight is the night that you will be able to begin purchasing all of the new July goodies the team has been showing throughout the past 5 days.  Everything will be up in the store at 10pm Eastern tonight, July 15.  I'm here to show you the rest of my projects using these new goodies.  There are 5 more projects today!

First up is a birthday card using the new Balloon Bash set.  I've posted several cards here on my blog with bokeh style stamping in the background, but I've had an idea in my head for awhile to try and acheive the look using vellum.  I thought it would make the perfect backdrop for those fun balloons!

Bokeh-Balloons

To create the bokeh effect I inked some Vellum Cardstock with various ink colors.  I then cut it down, sized to fit the front of my card and used the excess to punch circles from.  I layered those circles over the vellum panel.  It was fun and easy and I definitely want to try this technique again!  The balloon strings were stamped with White Staz On and the sentiment was heat embossed with white powder.

Next is a card using the new Delightful Dahlia Additions set.  Wow, when those images are all layered they create a stunning effect!  Way to go Dawn!  I stamped my Dahlia using Hibiscus Burst for the bottom layer, Raspberry Fizz for the next layer and Scarlet Jewel for the deepest color.  The leaves are Limeade Ice and Simply Chartreuse.

I also tossed in some sprigs from Larger than Life to look like mini grape hyacinths.  I diecut them from Blueberry Sky cardstock and stamped the coordinating image with Royal Velvet ink.  The sentiment is from the Dahlia Additions set.  Notice the pretty lacy border along the top and bottom edges?  That's a small accent image from the new Mat Stack 6 Collection set.  I stamped it repeatedly to create a pretty border.

Next up is a super simple one-layer card using Wishes Come True.  I stamped a few of the candle images in tons of different ink colors.

Birthday-Candles

The flames were stamped with Fine Linen ink and the sentiment, also from Wishes Come True, was stamped in True Black.  I added a few tiny stars which were cut from gold foil cardstock using a die from the Star Gazer set.

Next is a card using Summer Hills. The quilts on the clothesline push me over the edge with this set!  I created a little scene using elements from the set and nestled it inside a Mat Stack 6 diecut which was stamped with a coordinating image from the new Mat Stack 6 Collection stamp set.

The leaf flourish at the top and bottom is also from the Mat Stack 6 set.  The star is from Balloon Bash and the sentiment is from Summer Hills.  Behind the stamped panel is some patterned paper from the Summer Camp patterned paper pack.

Last, but not least is a quick and simple card using the new Polka Dot Parade #6.  I turned the tree image on its side to create branches instead.

And of course, no tree branch would be complete without a bird nestled on it, so I incorporated some birds from the Little Bitty Bird set.  I used second generation stamping on the blossoms, so they were all stamped with Pure Poppy ink.
