Meadow Greens...
July 14, 2013
It's time for group post #2 for the July Papertrey Ink countdown! Today the team is showcasing a brand new set called Meadow Greens. It's a gorgeous set designed by Nichole...one that's sure to become an instant classic. I can see myself reaching for it over and over.
Meadow Greens will be available for purchase from the Papertrey Ink website at 10pm Eastern time on July 15th, 2013.
Nichole challenged us to find two inspiration pieces for our Meadow Greens projects today, each with a distinctly different look and feel. First off I came upon this image of a botanical sampler. These sorts of things always intrigue me and I thought it would be fun to reproduce using the images from Meadow Greens.
Here is my card that was inspired by the inspiration piece. I diecut and stamped several of the leaf images from Meadow Greens using shades of green ink. I diecut tags using the Tiny Tags die and the Countdown Details dies to tie to each leaf.
The tags are stamped with little images from the Postmarks set. The sentiment was stamped in Clasic Kraft ink and is from the new Meadow Greens set as well. I love the overal calming effect of the card, I think with a different sentiment it would also make a beautiful sympathy.

For my second project I really wanted to incorporate the Queen Anne's Lace image from the Meadow Greens set and I found this gorgeous image to use as my inspiration...
I used to love working with Queen Anne's Lace when I worked in the flower shop. We used to get in a variety that was more green than white...I loved the fresh pop of green it added to everything. I tried to mimic that look in my second project today.
I used the method of stamping with re-inkers that I showed in THIS recent Make it Monday video. I stamped the Queen Anne's Lace blossom with some Limeade Ice reinker. Once it was dry I stamped it again with Versamark and heat embossed it with white powder. I put my blossom in a Mega Gracious Vases diecut which was cut from Vellum Cardstock. For the watercolor at the base I used the same re-inker stamping method using Melon Berry, Limeade Ice, and Aqua mist and the Watercolor Wonder stamp set. The pretty sentiment is from the new Meadow Greens.
