Pedal Pusher...
May 13, 2013
It's group post time for the May Papertrey Ink Countdown! Today the team is featuring a brand new stamp set called Pedal Pusher. It's an adorable bicycle set with so many options for customizing, plus lots of great sentiments. The Pedal Pusher stamp set and coordinating dies will abe available for purchase from the Papertrey Ink site at 10pm EST on May 15th.
I have two projects to share with you today using this new set. The first is a teacher thank you card that uses the "Thank You Teacher" sentiment from the set as well as the apples that fit inside the basket. There are lots of other fun things to put in the basket as well...that's what makes this set fun to play around with!
I teamed the bike up with several other elements to build my scene. The tree is from Through the Trees, the apples in the tree (not the basket - that's from the new Pedal Pusher) are from Falling Leaves. The clouds are from Up, Up & Away, and it's leaning on the Picket Fence die. I had lots of fun building this card...I always love that lots of the Papertrey sets seem to be scaled to work together. And I gather from your comments the other day that you don't mind seeing a card or two with a mile long supply list. I sure do have fun making them, so I'm glad you enjoy looking at them.

While my first card is very traditional with an almost vintage vibe to it, my next card is a little wild and crazy. I had fun playing around with different ideas for what the bike could be pulling, what could go in that basket, or what could be riding the bike. I finally settled on one of my favorite images...the cute monkey from Tremendous Treats: Birthday. We have a thing for monkeys around here (in case you haven't noticed).
He seemed to fit just right on the bike -- except that he can't quite reach the pedals, which sort of just adds to the silliness. I also incorporated the Movers & Shakers Spinners dies, so the bike will actually move across the card. The basket is filled with presents (from the new Pedal Pushers set) and he's holding a few stacks as well...I kind of love the way his tail wraps around the one stack. :-) The sentiment is from the It's a Jungle Out There set. I diecut the bike from Hawaiian Shores cardstock and plaid patterned paper, then cut apart the plaid bike and layered some of those pieces over the Hawaiian Shores bike. After all, a monkey with this much personality wouldn't be riding a plain colored bike, would he?

I had so much fun creating my projects for today's post...thanks so much for stopping by to check them out. If you'd like to see more projects using the new Pedal Pusher set, be sure to hop around to the other DT girls who have projects to show you...
