Papertrey Ink March 2013 Release in Review...

Today's the day we've been counting down to all week long!  All of the new March Papertrey Ink goodies will go up in the store tonight, March 15th at 10 pm EST.  I'm here to share the rest of my projects using this month's goodies.

I might as well start it off with my favorite card of the day, a baby card using the new Hello Foxy stamp set and dies.  Heather's little fox is just the cutest thing and I thought it would perfect for a baby girl card.

Hello-Baby

I combined the fox with the tree from Trendy Tree Tops.  I went for a soft and girly color combo of Aqua Mist and Sweet Blush with some Basic Grey Knee Highs patterned papers.  I used the Headline Alphabet stamps and dies to spell out "baby".

Up next is a card that combines the sentiments from the new Polka Dot Parade #2 with the cute phone image from an older set - Heart-to-Heart #4.

Happy-Hello

The phone and a bit of BB: Chevron were stamped onto white cardstock.  The "cord" was added by diecutting the Loop-de-Loop border die from some patterned paper.  I then heat embossed the sentiments onto a strip of vellum using Mustard and Aqua Zing powders.  I placed this strip over the stamped chevron and wrapped the excess around to the backside and secured with a bit of adhesive.  Kind of a fun look!  I embellished the phone with a diecut flower which is also from the new Polka Dot Parade #2 set.

Next is probably the corniest card of the century using one of the sentiments from the new Comfort Food Additions.  My girls have tons of t-shirts with cute foodie things and corny sayings.  They just love them.  I couldn't get those kinds of images out of my head when I was looking at the sentiments and images in Comfort Food and Additions.  I couldn't resist putting the spoon and ice cream together with the "let's get together" sentiment.

Lets-get-together

I annimated them in classic Diary-of-a-Wimpy-Kid-style by adding arms and legs with a black pen.  (Do your kids love those books too?  Heck, my mother-in-law reads and loves those books.  :-) )  My kids would get a kick out of this as a valentine or just a fun lunch-box note.

Next up is a card that is probably the polar opposite of the corny card above...a card using the new Spring Hills stamp set.  This is such a fun seasonal series!

Spring-Wishes

I used the individual house, tree and sheep images to create the scene on my card today.  Everything was fussy-cut and nestled inside a 3 1/2" LL Oval.  I added the flower/leaf sprigs from the new To You From Me set - I think they have the same sort of folk art feel to them and they work well together.  Everything was adhered to a panel of Soft Stone cardstock.  I scored the edge using my Martha Stewart scoring board to give it a nice finish.  The "spring wishes" sentiment from the set is stamped up the side onto some Sweet Blush polka dot paper using Smokey Shadow ink.

My last card for today features Dawn's new Boutique Borders: Birthday set as well as the Rosie Posie Step 2 set.  This newest border in the Boutique Borders series is just as gorgeous as the first.  I love the senitments as well.

Birthday-Posies

I stamped the border using Kraft ink, then stamped one of the banners from Bountiful Banners using Berry Sorbet ink.  I then heat embossed one of the sentiments from the Boutique Borders set using Lavender Zing powder.  I used the coordinating die to cut just the top and bottom edges of the frame (using the same partial cutting method I used HERE).  This allowed me to slip a strip of stamped paper behind the label without adding an extra layer.  The floral strip was created with the Rosie Posie and Rosie Posie Step 2 stamps.
