Hello March! Hello promise of spring...you're coming soon, right? Longing for some warm sunshine here...hopefully soon! Today is the first of the month, which means it's time for the Papertrey Ink Sr Team to bring you some fresh inspiration using an older Papertrey Ink stamp set. This month we are revisiting Friends Til the End.
The thing I love most about these revist posts is that I get the chance to pull out an older set and give it a whole new look by combining it with something new. For today's project I played around with combining the oldie but goodie Friends Til the End with the brand new Mini Blooms floral set.
I was inspired by this pretty frame by Basic Grey. I love the fresh colors and of course the gorgeous floral print...
I attempted to mimic the look and feel of the frame by combining the large, bold blooms from Friends Til the End with several of the smaller floral images from Mini Blooms.
This is attempt #2...I started out trying to cover the entire card front with a floral pattern, but it just ended up feeling busy and messy. It came together much better when I decided to just cluster the floral pattern to the bottom corner of the card. I really love the result and the moral of the story is...if you have an idea for a design, don't give up on it right away...sometimes it takes a few tries to get it right. Refining, as I like to call it. :-)
I used the same concept to create a quick coordinating tag. The tag base was cut with the Tag Sale #4 die and I used the same stamp combination as I did on my card. The smaller flower from Friends Til the End still felt a little large for the tag, so I diecut a portion off of the flower using the Tag Sale die to create an edge that has the same embossed impression as the tag itself....it just gives it a nice finishing touch. The sentiment was pulled from the Mini Blooms set.
That's all from me today, I hope you enjoyed this project brought a little spring to your world, even though it might not feel very springy outside! For more fresh inspiration using the Friends Til the End set, be sure to visit the other Sr Team members to see what they've created...
