Happy June! Summer vacation is in full swing and I'm left just trying to keep up with everyone and everything around here! I hope you're all settling into the routine of summer!
It's the first of the month and you know what that means...Papertrey Ink Sr. Design Team challenge. This month the team is revisiting the Boy Basics collection. Those boys....always so much harder to create for than the girls, but this great collection of mini stamp sets and coordinating dies sure does make it easier! I chose to work with the Boy Basics: Out of This World set to create a fun boyish birthday card.
This is an interactive card -- I used the Movers & Shakers: Zipper die for my background. I sponged Spring Rain ink over some cloud diecuts and heat embossed the sun image from Nativity Silhouettes with some yellow embossing powder.
The rocket itself is diecut using the coordinating die, and paper pieced using some fun glitter and metallic papers from DCWV.
I stamped the number strip from the Out of This World set onto the zipper strip and made sure that the rocket was only adhered onto this strip, so that as the countdown is made and the strip is torn off, the rocket "blasts" off. Total boy fun...tearing something apart. :-) Underneath I stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment. A gift card could be tucked inside as well.
That's all for my boy-ish project today! Be sure to hop around to the other DT girls to see which set they've used from the Boy Basics collection and what goodies they created with it!
