New Fancy Pants Day One: Be You
January 23, 2012
Hi there! Once again an entire week has gone by since I posted last. Where does time go? I've been busy with CHA projects, kid stuff, and life in general. It's all good though. It's going to be a little more entertaining here on my blog this week...lots of fun things to share and celebrate this week!
For today, I get to start sharing some of my projects using the new Fancy Pants CHA goodies! Today's featured collection is Be You. You can see the entire line HERE. Gorgeous colors...pinks, aqua, yellow...oh yeah. You know I'm all over that. :-)
I created 3 projects with this line...a scrapbook page and two cards. I'm seriously enjoying getting back into making pages again....more on that later this week! This one is of my daughter Katie....4 years old and definitely her own little person with a whole lot of attitude, so this "Be You" collection is perfect for her.
I trimmed the large "Be You" letters from the Subway Art patterned paper from the collection -- stitched around them, then popped them up with some foam adhesive. I let the large letters overlap all of the photos of her cute little attitude and expressions. I love the colorful chipboard banner pieces that they are releasing with each collection. They come with so many little bits and pieces that they're perfect for layering and embellishing. I created a fun little banner at the top of my page by layering some of the chipboard pieces over a Filter Embellishment. I added a chipboard label, buttons, and twine to embellish it.
They are also releasing stamps for each collection this time around! I used the large single flower stamp from the Be You collection to embellish the lower left corner of my page. I embossed them with some Zing powders.
Next up is a simple card using more of the chipboard pieces, along with one of the stamps from the new collection. I stamped that cute heart block a few times down the front of my card to create a backdrop for some chipboard hearts which I stitched through with my machine for a little added texture.
The sentiment is also a chipboard piece from the collection. I thought it would be a cute sentiment for a graduation card...those are always tough for me, but I think a young girl would like this...and it doesn't feel so graduation-y. :-)
And lastly today, another card. This would make a super cute Valentine's card. I again trimmed the large "YOU" from the Subway paper.
This time I layered a stamped label from the Be You collection, a chipboard heart and some alphas, along with a glitter transparency heart. The cute black/white heart border along the bottom was also trimmed from the Be You Strips paper from the collection...I love those sheets...so perfect for borders on cards and pages.
