Love & Marriage...
December 14, 2011
It's time for the second group post of the December Papertrey Ink countdown and today the team is showcasing a set called Love & Marriage, designed by Nichole. Dedicated to all things lovey-dovey, this set has so many great images. I am just in love with the large reverse tree image that Nichole created!
Love and Valentines and all things pink and red. It's almost the season. Yippee! :-) I created a Valentine card using the new set. I just love pink and red together. Ever since I was a little girl and I came out of my room wearing red shorts and a pink top and my mom told me I had to go back and change because, "Pink and red, fight, fight, fight!" Those were her exact words...funny how a little moment like that can just stick with you!
But now that I'm all grown up, the little rebellious side of me still loves red and pink together and even thought I probably won't try to wear red shorts and a pink top anytime soon, I love using that combo on my projects.
The lacey border along the top and bottom edge is from Love & Marriage and is the same as the new Filligree border die coming out this month, except smaller (you can't stamp the border stamp onto the die -- it's smaller). The little banner up in the corner was made with the Door to Door Accessory dies and stamped with letters from the Simple Alphabet set. The "...sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g" ditty kept going through my head while I was making this card, so at the last minute I added that little banner in the corner. :-)
The large sentiment along the bottom is from Lisa's new Happy Day set, the postmark is from this new Love & Marriage set. I embossed the red hearts with Zing Rouge powder.
To mimic the look of a heart doily behind the tree image, I used three Doily Details dies (one was cut in half) and arranged them like this (sorry for the horrible photo, I snapped this really quickly while I was working and obviously my settings were messed up!, but you get the idea, right?)...
I hope you enjoyed today's project! That's all from me today, but I'll be back tomorrow morning to share the rest of my release projects...6 new projects that I haven't shown here yet! But for now, be sure to swing by the other DT members to see their creations using Love & Marriage!
