October Papertrey: Winterberry + a great cardmaking sale!
October 18, 2011
It's been busy around here! Last week we had the October Papertrey release and I also had a lot going on here at home as well! My son had his golden birthday last week...he turned eleven on the 11th of October, 2011! Kind of a cool double-golden birthday! He couldn't make up his mind on a gift, so we went with the gold theme and gave him his birthday money in gold coins. He took it, along with the paper route money he's been saving, and bought an ipod which he is thoroughly enjoying.
So between the family party and the friend party, I feel like we've been partying for a week. That probably explains why it's been a bit quiet around here. But I'm going to start posting my October Papertrey projects a bit at a time. Just one tonight...a card featuring Heather's new set, Winterberry.
I decided to go with a folk artsy look and combined the images in this set along with that pretty bracket from Modern Woodmats to create a scene reminiscent of folkart notecards or embroidery. I added some color to the leaves inside the tree using colored pencils.
That's all for projects today. I'm going to aim to post one card from the October release each day this week. But before I go, I wanted to share a great cardmaking sale with you!! I think this one's right up your alley. :-)
