September Papertrey...
September 16, 2011
Sorry to leave you high and dry for a while. We've been here...
Enjoying God's beautiful creation here...
and here...
Some family time here...
and way up here...
Taking in some gorgeous views here...
(not sure what's up with the lighting, but my son doesn't have a mohawk...I promise. hee.)
With a little R&R here...
And ended the week celebrating with family here...
We spent a wonderfully relaxing week in a cabin nestled in the Rocky Mountains, just doing whatever we felt like, even if...especially if... that meant doing nothing at all. It was really just what we needed. But quite honestly I've been having a hard time getting back in the groove...I'm usually ready to come home after a week, but not this time...I really think I could have stayed another week. Or maybe even a month.
But back to reality. :-) How about some September Papertrey release projects? I'll share a few tonight and hopefully the rest by the beginning of the week.
(all supplies linked at the bottom of this post)
This one was probably my favorite of the bunch. It uses Maile's Bells & Boughs set, which I just adore and had so much fun playing with...it's one of those classicly beautiful sets that I can't wait to put to use even more.
I rolled the bells in both Pure Poppy and Scarlet Jewel ink to give them some subtle shading. I did the same with the boughs, using two shades of green. The background was stamped with BB: Sheet Music and Latte (A Muse) ink.
Next up is a card using Dawn's Candy Cane Christmas set along with one of her new Damask Snowflakes dies.
That fun patterned paper is from Echo Park's Everybody Loves Christmas collection, which was actually one of last year's collections, but still on of my favorites. I'm not so sure it's easy to find any more though...I looked around to link it up but didn't find it in stock...you might have luck on ebay or something though!
And lastly tonight is a card using the fun and rustic Winter Cheer set by Tiffany Pastor
One thing to note here is that I used the Damask Snowflake dies, along with the snowflakes from the Peace Be Still die collection to create the embossed background. You're probably all aware of how this works, but just in case -- I just used the same sandwich I use with the Impression Plates, including the tan mats so that the dies emboss instead of cut.
That's all for projects tonight, but I do have a couple of sales to pass along.
I'm not sure if you've seen it or not, but Two Peas is having a great sale ontheir pens and markers category...30% off! Including all of their Copics! That brings their sketch markers down to $4.89 each, which is a great price.
Ellen Hutson is also having a great sale...all Tim Holtz and Wendy Vecchi items are 20% off! This includes all of the distress inks, stains, paints, as well as Tim Holtz dies, stamps, etc! It's definitely a great time to pick up any items you've had your eye on. Enter the code "WendyTim" at checkout to get the 20% discount.
