Ready and waiting...
Vintage Findings Friday....Creating Resin Papers

All Aboard...

Thanks to all of you that shared your comments on yesterday's post.  It's good to know I'm not alone with all these crazy mommy feelings.  I felt much better about it today after a peaceful and productive day.  My one little remaining shadow reclaimed her place by my side instead of following the older kids around picking fights most of the day.  She's much more content when she has the run of the house...no one to fight for the computer, or bargain with for control of the remote.  She's also much better about actually playing with her toys when the older two are off to school.  She'll play quietly by my feet for a long time...I'd kind of forgotten what it was like with just the two of us.  We enjoyed the day and I think we'll do it again tomorrow.

The older two are having a great first week at school, so all is well.  We're also soaking up some last few hours at the pool after school this week.  I love that time...I feel like I'm able to put in a full day's work while they're gone and when they get home I'm ready to go relax with them for a bit before supper.

I have a quick card for you today using a stamp set by Technique Tuesday called All Aboard.  I love the vintage-y images in this set.

I stamped several of the images using various colors of ink onto a blue background.  I thought it gave the images a little more of a light-hearted feel and were perfect for a boy's birthday card.  For the sentiment, I used a stamp from PTI's Make a Wish and just masked off the word "boy" and used chipboard letters instead, using the train's headlamp for the "o".  I filled in the headlamp with a silver marker.

I was inspired by this patterned paper from Crate Paper's Toy Box collection.  I really enjoy taking a patterned paper that I like and trying to mimic the look with stamps.  Give it a try sometime...it's a fun creative exercise.

I'll be back here tomorrow for a Papertrey DT tips project...kind of a fun one, especially for those of you who were asking for the return of the Vintage Findings Friday.

P.S.  Have you visited the Paper Crafts Connection or Moxie Fab World blogs this week?  They're celebrating the release of the latest sketch issue, Card Ideas for Paper Crafters.  Lots of inspiring sketches and challenges happening on both of the blogs...check it out and play along!
