The Blessing of Today + Card Giveaway Winners...

Happy Saturday everyone!  I hope you're having a happy, productive day.  I have to admit, I was really dragging this week.  I think the madness of Stamp-A-Faire and the fact that we have just been SO busy this summer finally caught up with me.  This was the first week of the summer that we have not had to run to summer rec, baseball games, swimming lessons, etc.  All of that running finally caught up with me and I think my body was just ready for a break.

But, today was a new day and I woke up early (for a Saturday anyway) feeling rested and ready to tackle some projects!  I've got some cards to share with you that I put together this morning, but first of all, I wanted to post the winners for my Stamp-A-Faire Make 'n Take cards!  Without further ado, here are the numbers Random.org kicked out....

Ladies, please use the email link on the left-hand sidebar to email me your address and I'll get your bundle of cards in the mail to you!

Thank you for all of your sweet comments over the last week (as always!).  I truly appreciate each and every one of them!

Now, how about some cards?  I am in LOVE with cabbage roses.  Have you noticed the trend recently?  I've been seeing them pop up again and again.  I love them...they are beautiful and they remind me of summer.  Full, fragrant, lush.

I created a couple of cards using the Hero Arts Rose Background stamp along with some beautiful Anna Griffin rose stickers.

To create the background on both of these cards, I stamped the Rose Background stamp with VersaMark, then heat embossed with white powder.  I then took various Distress Inks and my Ink Blending Tool and roughly inked in the roses and leaves.  I did the roses with Tattered Rose, the leaves with Peeled Paint, and finally I went back over the very centers of the roses with Fired Brick.

The result is very soft and feminine.  And I adore these rose stickers.  I am so sad that I have used up almost the entire sheet...only one lonely little rose remains.  sniff.  I may need to get more...they are a bit hard to find, but I do have them linked up in my supply list should you feel the need to snag some for yourself.  Please leave me some, though.  :-)

The sentiments on both cards are from Technique Tuesday's This is the Day set.  I thought they would be perfect for wedding cards, don't you think?  That pretty lace border is the Faux Crochet Border from My Favorite Things.

I'm sorry my blog has been a bit quiet the last few weeks, but good news...I've got lots of posts lined up for the next week or two!  Take care!
