A bit of this and that...
Just saying hello...

Paper Crafts magazine Presents: Card Creations 9 Blog Hop

CC9_Cover_WEB

Welcome to the Card Creations 9 blog hop!  I LOVE the Card Creations issues.  I love creating cards for them and I love looking at them!  I look forward to working on my submissions for this issue every year...there's something about the open-endedness of the call that just inspires me to get out my paper goodies and play!  If there's a certain product that I've been itching to work with and just haven't found the time, this call is always just the excuse I need!  Since Card Creations covers every occasion and holiday the whole year through, anything is fair game!  Whatever my heart desires!  Fun, fun!

Well, today 9 designers published in this issue are sharing brand-new-never-seen-before cards!  Our challenge was to create a card inspired by the cover.  I love Carolyn King's Missing You card and decided to draw my inspiration from that.  Maps are HOT right now and so fun!  I had my hubby in mind when I created this card...it's our anniversary on Sunday, so I think I'll give it to him. :-)

I pulled out some new Papertrey Ink Road Trip patterned paper...the paper was a cream tone-on-tone print when I started.  I sponged blue and green ink using my blending tool to mimic the look of land and water.

I then punched a heart and backed it with the same paper, leaving it un-inked this time.  I added a distressed chipboard heart, a diecut "you" and finished the sentiment with a stamp.  I had to throw in a postage cancellation stamp for good measure too...can hardly make a project without one of those lately!  :-)
