Introducing Wonderful Words...
May 09, 2011
Hey there! It's that magic day again...the 10th of the month, which means the official start to the Papertrey Ink countdown! The new products I'm peeking tonight will be available on May 15th from the Papertrey Ink website.
I get to help introduce one new set tonight that's different from anything Papertrey has released before! The stamp set is actually called Wonderful Words Additions...and it is actually an "addition" to a set of dies being released called Wonderful Words.
The Wonderful Words die collection is a set of 4 fun, scripty words. The stamp set is meant to compliment the dies, meaning that each diecut word will finish one of the sentiments from the set. So fun and so many possibilities...especially when you factor in that the dies can be used with many of your older sets as well!
So let's get on to the projects. First up is a graduation card. It's that time of year again and I'm going to need a bucket full of these. I combined the "you" die from Wonderful Words and the "hooray for.." from the Wonderful Words stamp set with the By the Numbers dies and For the Graduate for a striking graduation card.
The Wonderful Words dies are just fun! I love the font!
So how about combining just the dies with other sets? Here I used the "happy" die and combined it with a tag from 2011 Birthday Tags for a fun and colorful birhtday card.
I used the 1 3/4" Limitless Layers Circle collection and added some ribbon tails to create a sort of fair ribbon effect.
Besides the obvious, there are lots of other creative possibilites with these new word dies. I know I've only begun to scratch the surface and you PTI'ers will blow me out of the water when I see the creative things you're going to do with this set! How about using the negative? Here I diecut the word "lucky" from the Tag Sale #3 die and backed it with some colorful patterned paper.
The clover image is from Luck of the Irish.
And to open up the possibilites even further, how about using the dies to emboss? Here I used one of the cream mats in my diecutting sandwhich so that the die wouldn't cut, but would emboss instead. I then used my ink blender to rub some Aqua Mist ink over the top to really bring out the impression.
I added the cherry stem from Everyday Button Bits....notice the cute patterned paper in the background? Hmmmmmm? I love to tease you. :-)
That's all I have for you tonight! I hope you enjoyed tonight's post...it's just the beginning of all the great products being released this month! Be sure to check out some of the other PTI blogs -- Nichole will have more on Wonderful Words, Tiffany, Melissa, Heather, and Dawn will all have posts too using their new sets!
