Simple Sentiments...
Love Lives Here...

Make a Wish..

Hey everyone!  It's time for the December Papertrey release to get underway.  Tonight I get to help introduce a couple of new sets for the month -- Make a Wish and Make a Wish Additions by Melissa Bickford.  These sets are packed with fun and versatile images, sentiments, and coordinating dies...perfect for birthdays, but will also adapt to many other occasions as well!

The main set contains square images that can be used as a cake or turned into gifts.  There are some different bows to use as toppers and also a cake stand and candles if you decide to use the squares to build a cake.  Both of these sets will be available from purchase from Papertrey Ink at midnight on the 15th of December.

So...let's start off with a little tag using a sentiment from Make a Wish Additions as well as the die that coordinates with the gift image from the Additions set.  For this tag I cut it out of felt instead of using the stamps.  Also note the flower... a new die that I'm just a little bit excited about!

Next is a card that uses the dies that coordinate with the main Make a Wish set -- there are three sizes of squares.  I used the medium and large.  The sentiment I used here is also from the full set.

Birthday-Girl

I diecut the boxes from patterned paper and paper doilies.  The background is Dawn's new Sheet Music background and it's soooo pretty!  I stamped it in Fresh Snow ink on Kraft cardstock.  I'm not sure if you can see it very clearly, but on the top edge of the top box is a little border that I cut using the tiny toppers from the Banner Builder Collection.  They fit perfectly across the medium sized gift/cake die and also the gift die that coordinates with the Additions set.

So we've got the birthday girl covered, what about the birthday boy?  For this card I used three sizes of squares from the main set, along with the gift image from the additions set with their coordinating dies.  I paired them with some images from Tiny Treats: Valentine to create little toys to set in front of the packages.

Birthday-Boy

This is a fun, colorful card that I think a little boy would love!

So how about a totally different approach?  Here I used the cake stand image to creat a layered cake.  I diecut the squares, but instead of stamping them with the coordinating dotted square image, I stamped them with the diamond image from Tin Types.  I then gave them a coat of glitter...

Wedding-Cake

It was a little hard to capture in the photo, but can you see the impression on the background?  Sheet Music...be still my heart.  :-)  I added some Fine Linen felt flowers and a pearl flourish from Zva.

This is the inside....that sentiment is from the Make a Wish main set and could easily be used for a birthday, but when paired with this sparkly wedding cake, is perfectly fitting for the happy couple.  That pretty flourish under the sentiment is from the new Mat Stack 2 Collection.

How about one more card, just for fun.  I went a little crazy with the dies...cut them from lots of different papers, then stacked them up Dr. Seuss style, perfect for the first birthday girl. Notice how I embellished the tops again with diecuts from the tiny toppers from the Banner Builder Collection.

Make a Wish Additions has a few fun sentiments with blanks so you can fill in numbers.  Numbers are included in the set as well.  Here I stamped the "1st" onto a diecut star from the Seeing Stars die collection.  I highlighted it a bit more by stamping over it with Aqua Mist ink using one of the single dots from Polka Dot Basics.

Well, that's all for now, but there are so many more surprises waiting for you this release!  I'll have lots more to share over the weekend.  But for now, be sure to stop by Dawn, Melissa, Heather, and of course Nichole to see more peeks of the new stuff!
