Hello friends! It is Papertrey countdown time again and this month I get to help preview two new sets! First off is a beautiful wreath set designed by Nichole that has not only holiday appeal, but will prove to be a year-round classic! Perfect for so many different occasions. The second set we're previewing today is a holiday sentiment set called Holiday Spirit Sentiments by Alli Miles...if you like the Birthday Bash Sentiment set she released a few months ago, you will love this one as well!
So let's get on to the projects, shall we?
For my first card, I created a "door" using cardstock rectangles embossed with the Woodgrain impression plate. I stamped the twiggy wreath first with brown ink, then with VersaMark, turning it slightly so it didn't stamp in the exact same place. I then used a Heat n' Stick powder to add glitter to the second wreath. Over that I stamped the berries in red.
The little sign on the door was created using one of the sentiments from the Wreath set. The fonts in the set are really beautiful!
Next up is an autumn take. I stamped both of the wreath images...the twigs first, then the leafy wreath. I inked the leafy wreath with Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, and Terracotta Tile. The berries were stamped with Scarlett Jewel.
I stamped another of the sentiments from the set in the center of the wreath.
Next up is a very simple card. Sometimes simple is fun and refreshing! To create the background, I stamped the blocked word "Merry" from the Holiday Spirit Sentiments set several times with Simply Chartreuse ink. I thought when it was all stamped together it sort of resembled bricks, which made a great background for my wreath. The "Merry Christmas" sentiment is also from Holiday Spirit Sentiments.
I topped it off by stamping the berries with Pure Poppy, adding a little baker's twine and an Eyelet Lace diecut border.
And lastly, a little different approach to the wreath. I was inspired by some Basic Grey holiday papers I had laying on my work table. The print had reindeer with wreaths around their necks and I wondered if I could achieve the same effect using this new set. I'm happy to report that it worked out quite well! The diecut deer is from the Christmas Solutions Cricut cartridge.
To achieve this look, I traced the deer's neck (the portion that I did not want to wreath to be stamped on) onto scrap paper. I cut it out and layed it over the cardstock deer to act as a mask. I then stamped the wreath and removed the mask. It no looks as though the wreath is around the deer's neck. Fun!
I added some stamping around the edge of the card using the flourishes from Embellishments and the text from Background Basics: Text Style. The "Peace" sentiment is from the new Holiday Spirit Sentiments.
Alrighty! I hope you like what you've seen and are excited for all of the fun holiday goodies that are coming your way this month! For more inspiration, be sure check out the other gals that have posts today...
