Tiny Treats Team Challenge...
August 11, 2010
Are you ready for some fun? I am so excited about the project I have to share with you tonight! It's Papertrey Countdown Group Post day and the set we are using today is just the CUTEST! The images and sentiments are so adorable. It's a follow up to the popular Tiny Treats: Valentine. And you know what season we'll be heading into soon.....Halloween!
This is an adorable set, filled with fun images, perfect for school treats, treats to hand out to trick-or-treaters, and more!
I chose to work with the cute little monster image.
This little cutie inspired me to try my hand at one of the cute felt monsters you see all over at places like Etsy, etc. And what more perfect thing to use than Papertrey's beautiful felt!
I was going to create my own pattern, but then I began to see my Papertrey dies in a whole new light...
Let's play a game I like to call "Name That Papertrey Die", shall we?
Body = Mat Stack 3
Arms = Bookmark topper
Hands = Beautiful Blooms Flower #3 (with one petal trimmed off)
Teeth = Rick Rack Border die
Feet = Small Cloud (with the bottom trimmed flat)
Scallop along bottom of body = Jar Toppers
I diecut him, stitched him and stuffed him, but if you're not a sewer you could easily hot glue him together. The legs are made by braiding three strands of Poppy Baker's Twine. Let me just tell you how much fun I had putting him together! This would also be a fun project to make with your kids. You could prepare the bodies ahead of time and then let them decorate them however they please!
And here he is all wrapped up with a cute topper made with the Tiny Treats: Halloween set....he looks like he's trying to escape his little clear bag, doesn't he? My kids would love to receive one of these cuties!
Here is a quick shot of the backside of the bag. I stamped a "to", "from" from Boxes, Bags, and Tags.
You could definitely use this idea for more than just a hallowee treat. He would make a fabulous kid's birthday card when made out of paper and put on a card...
That little monster image makes a pretty cute patterned paper! And the funky sentiment from Birthday Bash Sentiments stamped on a row of tickets is the perfect finishing touch!
You could easily give this card along with one of the stuffed felty monsters for an adorable birthday gift ensemble! You could package it just like I did for the halloween treat, just change the sentiment into a birthday greeting.
Now be sure to hop around to the other Design Team members to see what spooky things they've whipped up for you to see!
