We are still away on vacation, touring D.C. and having so much fun! But, it's Papertrey countdown time again and that means I get to help kick off the countdown by introducing a new set by Tiffany Pastor called Embellishments. This is such a beautiful set. So versatile...so many uses....can be combined with so many different sets. It is filled with classic looking images and elements..beautiful flourishes (with matching dies...hoooray!) and elegant sentiments.
So let's get started, shall we?
First up is a soft and elegant card. I used some of the flourishes on the new Mat Stack 4 die and they fit perfectly to create a beautiful frame. There are two flourishes...seperate stamps and mirror images of eachother which makes it very easy to create frames and borders.
I embossed the label with Woodgrain, giving it a sort of rustic feel. Behind the Mat Stack 4 are the larger flourished from the set that have the matching dies.
Next up is another classic, vintage-y card. When stamped in Dark Chocolate ink on Kraft cardstock, these flouries remind of of pretty wooden flourishes you might find on antique furniture. I guess that's why I can't resist embossing them with the Woodgrain Impression plate...so I did it again here.
That heart in the center is cut from Pure Poppy cardstock and then stamped with one of the flourish stamps in Scarlett Jewel ink. It makes such a pretty background pattern! The felt heart under the red one is covered in glitter for a little pizzazz. Oh, and check out the pretty border...that's all one stamp and it's so pretty!
Next up is a more elegant card. This set is just so pretty and elegant. Here I used one of the large flourishes stamped in the corners to create a sort of frame or border. They are also stamped on the Pure Poppy Mat Stack label.
And yes...there's that woodgrain again. Couldn't resist. This time I used my impression plate after I first heat embossed it with a clear powder...so it has some shine along with the woodgrain impression which makes it look like varnished wood. I also used two more smaller flourishes along the bottom edge and trimmed around them to give my card a pretty scalloped edge.
And lastly a card with a bit of a different feel...lighter and brighter. I used the larger flourish as a flower stem and topped it with the rose image from Garden of Life. The plaid background was made using Distressed Stripes...which goes so well with this set since they both have that distressed look.
The flower is layered over a Mat Stack 4 die...notice a new Impression Plate??
Alrighty! That's it for now...be sure to hop around to the other DT Gals to catch some glimpses of all the new goodies! Beth, Tiffany, Heather and Alli will all be peeking their new sets! Erin is helping out with the countdown this month, so be sure to check that out! And Nichole will have more featuring two of the new sets!
