It's such a crazy, busy time of the year, isn't it? I've been busy working to try and meet all of my end-of-the-year deadlines so that when the holidays come we can take a breath and spend some quiet family time. My house shows it right now....my craft room was so messy that I moved into the dining room to work on some sewing projects, so now my entire house, from top to bottom is a disaster!! But, good news...I finished up a big project and am ready to take a deep breath, clean up, and move on with some holiday preparations!
I just thought I'd pop in and show you something that I worked on last week. We have a secret pal group at our church and every year in December we get together to celebrate, share some yummy food, exchange gifts, reveal our secret pal for the year, and choose new ones for the upcoming year. Even though our group is dwindling, I always enjoy it. There are a lot of older ladies in the group and it's nice to sit down with them and hear their stories of when they were young, or when their children were young. It's always a reminder to me that we have it so easy now. There are so many struggles that they endured, that we don't even think about today.
But, anyway....on to my point. My mom and I volunteered last year to plan this year's get-together. I don't know if any of you do anything similar, but I thought I'd share this project in case anyone's interested. We decided to go with a Christmas Tea theme, and to make it very feminine with pinks and greens. I wanted to make some little favors for the tables, and this is what I came up with....
The teacup cards were cut on my Cricut using the A Child's Year cartridge. I cut a slit in the fold and inserted a tea bag. I added a sentiment and that cool circular image from the Tea for Two Papertrey set.
I also made these little teapot cards so each lady could write their info and we could trade names for the upcoming year.
The front is decorative and the information is on the backside, along with a couple of small magnets. That way, each lady can hang it on their fridge and just in case their secret pal is also a friend that might happen to come over, the info is hidden and the secret is safe. :-)
I actually have a bunch of these left over, so if anyone is interested in purchasing a few, let me know!
Stamps: Tea for Two, Warm Happiness, Turning a New Leaf
Ink: Ripe Avocado, Hibiscus Burst, Sweet Blush
Cardstock: Vintage Cream, Sweet Blush, Spring Moss
Other: Cricut A Child's Year cartridge, Cuttlebug embossing border, Marvy oval punch, Spring Moss and Sweet Blush satin ribbon
Alrighty, off to dig myself out of the mess that's been accumulating around our busy-ness. Then, deep breath, and on to my holiday to-do list!
