Wishes under pillows...
July 23, 2009
My little soon-to-be kindergartener was in all her glory today as we went to school to register. She's been dreaming of her first real day of school ....eating lunch at school, riding the bus and all the other fun things she's watched her brother do for the past 3 years. It's finally her turn. She slept with the school supply list under her pillow the other night. She's just like her mama...loves crayons, markers and paper. She's excited and I'm excited for her...except that I will miss her here with me everyday. I'll at least get to enjoy our Tuesdays and Thursdays until the second semester...then she'll be gone everyday. sniff. Only 4 more weeks of summer vacation. sniff again.
But, you're probably all waiting for the winner of the Just Rite stamps.....SO, here ya go...
Random.org picked commenter #31, which was....
On to some projects. I got a chance to play with the new Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge and it was fuuuuun.... lots of fun images on this one. Many more possibilities than just patriotic stuff. Also some great stuff for boys on there.
First is a card...the circle base of the card is from Wild Card, everything else is Stand and Salute.
I love this star from the cart...it's got some little line cuts on the star points that make it perfect for folding just a bit and putting some dimensional foam under the center. Makes a great 3-D look.
And a 4th of July card. This cart has a Note Card feature which I love....great for card fronts... a little easier to work with rather than having a window on the front or a shaped card.
And a layout (photoless, I know, but imagine a photo of a cute little boy in there. :-) See what I mean? Great for little boy stuff too...I love those little planes and clouds.
And some home decor pieces...speaking of boys, wouldn't this be cute in a little boy's room? This was done with vinyl on wood with some giant Bazzill brads on the top of the tags.
And some Americanna bowls done with vinyl.....
And then a little more traditional take on some the images on the cart....a shadow box, perfect for someone that has a loved one serving....
Ok, I'd better run....some crazy friend (Jen, are you reading this???) got the hair-brained idea to go out to a late movie. Anyone seen Proposal? She says it's funny. Here's hoping I can stay awake. :-) 'night!
that picture card just made me go "AWWWW" out loud! they don't have a web short cute for that.... I guess it could be AOL... :)
thanks for the opportunity to win some free stamps! always got to love that!
