Celebrating Mothers....
March 12, 2009
I am so thankful to have my mom...she is literally my best friend. We talk several times a week and live just a few blocks from eachother. If I have something good and wonderful in my life, I call my mom. If I have something troubling me, I call my mom. Last night at Bible study we were talking about parenting teens (I'm not there yet - thank goodness!!), but those that have teens were talking about how difficult it can be. And then we started talking about our relationships with our parents when we were teens. And it occurred to me that there has never really been a time (even during those teens years) that we didn't get along...we have always been close. We're a lot alike and enjoy many of the same things. I credit (or blame :-D ) my sort of entrepreneurial tendencies on her. She has done so many things in her life, one adventure after another....she now runs an adorable little tea room and antique shop. I love to work with her there when I get the chance.
So, when Nichole asked the design team to work on a special gift for our moms using the new (soon to be released) Mother set, I decided to make a word book containing many of the words that I feel describe my mom. I chose to use Beautiful Blooms to complement the new Mother set and I used soft, feminine colors and details.
Here are some pics of a few of the pages.
And a close-up of the matching card...
Stamps: Mother, Beautiful Blooms
Ink: Sweet Blush, Aqua Mist, Spring Moss, Raspberry Fizz, Dark Chocolate
Cardstock: Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate
Patterned paper: Bitty Dots Basics
Other: White/Cream buttons, Sweet Blush Twill, scallop scissors, jute, Bind-it-All, corner rounder
If you like this project, be sure to head over to Nichole's blog...she has a download available that contains cutting and assembly instructions for all the DT cards and projects. The download will also include the printable pages needed to recreate this album for your own mother.
