Happy Thursday! I'm playing along with this week's Throwback Thursday challenge from Papertrey Ink. Each week we feature an older set and bring you some fresh inspiration. This week's featured set is All Booked Up...perfect for cards and projects for book-loving friends!
Here's a card I created using this set. I always think of this set when I open my Kindle app, and that's what inspired my color choice here.
I started off with a panel of watercolor paper, which I sponged with blue and teal inks, and added a bit of yellow along the bottom. I used watercolor paper because I find that the colors tend to blend a little easier when sponging onto watercolor paper. I diecut a 1-3/4" circle from the center of my panel, then stamped the circular image from the All Booked Up set onto the diecut circle using black ink. This circle was nested back inside the cut-out opening after the panel was adhered to my card base with foam tape.
I added a sentiment from the set and heat embossed it with gold powder. I also stamped the open book image from the set, colored it with Copics and placed it under the diecut circle. Finally, I finished it off in a dramatic way by adding the pretty leafy frame from the Ivy & Bloom die set, cut from True Black cardstock.
