Good morning and welcome to another countdown day for the October Papertrey Ink release!
One of my new products is being showcased today -- this month's Mix & Mat die collection called Mix & Mat: Snowflakes. I've been using this die collection on a few projects over the last few days. I have one more today, plus a few other projects using some of my other new products coming your way this month.
Everything I mention as "new" in today's post will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm ET on October 15th from the Papertrey Ink website.
I'll start off with a project that uses the new Mix & Mat: Snowflake dies. Just like the other Mix & Mat die sets, it consists of three dies, which can be used all together, individually, or any two together. They can also be mixed and matched with any of the other Mix & Mat die sets for near endless combinations!
This card uses just the scalloped border and the snowflake detail die, omitting the outer scalloped frame die from the set. I cut it directly from my card front for an open, lacy effect.
To add the color, I diecut the snowflake detail from both Berry Sorbet and Vintage Jadeite cardstock, then snipped the snowflakes apart and layered them over the snowflakes on my card front. I added some shading with Copic markers. The sentiment is from the new Ways to Say: Christmas set, also new this month.
Next up are a couple of cards using some of my other new sets this month. First is one using the new Cloche Quarters: Winter Fillers set. There's an adorable little station wagon - just like my On the Wagon set, except sized to fit inside the cloches!
I stamped several trees, also from the Cloche Quarters: Winter set. I added the snow by stamping and heat embossing the snowfall stamp found in the new Dash Away All set. I enclosed the car and a few trees inside a cloche to create a shaker element filled with glitter.
In the background is a bit of the birch paper ribbon from the Wonderland Trimmings kit, cut with the Brushed Off: Rectangle die. I also added some of the birch curling ribbon from the Trimmings kit at the top.
My last card uses the Sing a Song of Christmas set for a fun watercolor card. I stamped the "have yourself a merry..." sentiment and treble clef from the set and embossed it with white powder. Then I used some watercolor pencils to add color around it.
I also stamped a couple of rows of music using the Background Basics: Sheet Music set and Soft Stone ink.
I finished it off by adding a few snowflake and note diecuts.
Thanks for stopping by today! If you'd like to see more of the Mix & Mat: Snowflakes die collection, among other things, you can visit Nichole's blog, and also Keeway, as she'll be featuring some projects using the dies.
