So excited about the projects I have to share today...the last day in our April Papertrey Ink post-release blog series, plus it's my first time participating in our new Throwback Thursday blog series!
First off is a Throwback Thursday project for you. Each Thursday, members of the Papertrey team pull out an older set and bring you some fresh inspiration. This week's featured set is Dot Spot.
I used the set to create a fun background for a birthday card. I started out by heat embossing the dotted circles with clear powder onto a panel of watercolor paper. I sponged shades of green, blues, and purple over the embossing, then misted with water to give it a bit of texture.
I layered some Small Sketched Star diecuts over the background, cut from coordinating cardstock colors, and also added some clear sequins. The sentiment was cut twice from watercolor paper using the Big Basics: Wish Big die, then layered for a bit of extra thickness and dimension.
Next I have a few more projects using some products from the April release. My first card uses Dawn's gorgeous new Gran's Garden floral set. I paired it up with elements from my Lovely Lace kit and a sentiment from the Inspired: Hope set.
I started by sponging some Bright Buttercup ink onto a linen card base. Then I placed the all-over Lovely Lace stencil over the top and inked a bit more, using the same Bright Buttercup ink. This gives a subtle, lace design. I stamped the sentiment in Berry Sorbet/Pure Poppy and Stormy Sea inks and framed it with the lace medallion diecut from the Lovely Lace kit.
I added a pretty bouquet of diecut and stamped flowers from the Gran's Garden set.
My last project uses the beautiful new Quoted: Start Again sentiment. So pretty! I stamped it onto a Mix & Mat: Scallops diecut and embossed it with white powder. Then I used some small make-up sponges to sponge ink onto the sentiment.
The background was made by embossing the all-ver lace stencil onto a panel of Lilac Grace cardstock. I inked the stencil with Amethyst Allure ink and a brayer before running it through my machine with an embossing mat.
Well, that wraps up my post-release projects! I hope you enjoyed the countdown and post-release festivities while you wait for your package to arrive. Enjoy!
