A Need for Speed...

Welcome to the first group post for the June 2016 Papertrey Ink countdown!  Today the team is here to show some fun new products by Erin, all with a car/roadtrip theme.

I also have a few more projects using some of my new products towards the bottom of this post.

All of the products I mention as "new" in today's post will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm Eastern on June 15 from Papertrey Ink.

First up is an interactive card using Erin's new Need For Speed stamp set and dies, paired up with the new On The Road die, which is a die that cuts a pretty large scale road.  I cut the road from one of the magnetic sheets that Papertrey carries, and backed it with some Bright Buttercup cardstock to get the yellow dotted line in the center.  I cut two of the cars from the Need for Speed set both from cardstock and magnet material.  I stamped on the cardstock diecuts and then adhered them to the magnets so that the cars will stick to the road.

The sentiment is also from the Need for Speed set, and was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white powder.  The chevrons were cut with a die from the Clipsters Make It Market Mini Kit.  I sponged ink on the white cardstock base that's under the red layer so that it would show through the chevron cut-outs.

You can see here where the cars can be taken off and moved around the magnetic road.  I think a little birthday boy would love this!

My next project uses one of the new stitching die collections coming your way this month, also from Erin!  She designed an adorable car and truck set.  So many fun possibilities with these!  I chose to use the truck.  Instead of diecutting it from felt, I used adhesive-backed craft foam.  I also cut the main truck shape from cardstock as well, and adhered the foam to the cardstock to make it a little sturdier.  I created two trucks and stitched them together, leaving the box of the truck open so I could slip a gift card inside.  It's a perfect fit!

I wrapped some twine around the gift card to make it look like a jumbo package, and tied a tag to it, which was stamped with a "to"/"from" using the new Keep It Simple: To From set coming out this month.  Just a fun and simple way to present a gift card that any boy, young or old, would totally get a kick out of!

Next I have a card using one of the sentiments from the new Graceful Greetings II set, along with its coordinating die.  I pulled out my Botanical Blocks II set and stamped those gorgeous lilacs with gray ink so I could watercolor them.  I used Amethyst Allure, Spring Rain, Aqua Mist, and Simply Chartreuse reinkers to do the watercoloring.

To create the different frames, I diecut one of the Stitched Rectangle dies from some watercolor paper that was watercolored with Aqua Mist, and then cut and embossed the window using one of the new Double Ups Rectangles, which makes a nearly perfect window for the Botanical Blocks images.  The outer frame was also cut and embossed using the largest rectangle from the Double Ups set and it fits perfectly around the Stitched Rectangle die...gotta love when that happens!  The sentiment from Graceful Greetings II was stamped with Smokey Shadow ink onto its coordinating diecut.

And here's another card using the new Paper Clippings: Birthday set that was introduced yesterday.  I diecut the large die from watercolor paper, then watercolored everything with reinkers. Really fun and easy to do.

I adhered the finished diecut to a white cardstock base that was sponged with some Aqua Mist ink.  I also added a border using the new Double-Ups Rectangles die, which was cut and then embossed to get those cute scallops.  I added a bit of glitter to the cake for some sparkle.
