Papertrey Ink May Release Wrap-up...

New! Make It Market Mini Kit: Sunshine & Rainbows...

It's time for the last of three group posts for the Papertrey Ink May countdown and the final day of product reveals!  The sunshine from yesterday is spilling over into today's projects.  Today the team is helping me showcase my latest Make It Market Mini Kit called Sunshine & Rainbows.  This kit is filled with some fun things that I think you'll love creating with.

There's a set of multi-step stencils that will create a large rainbow, which can be stenciled onto the coordinating patterned papers, or just done on a panel of cardstock.  There are also some cute stamps, patterned papers, and die-cuttable papers.

One of the other things being showcased today is the Rainbow XL die, which also coordinates with the kit, but is being offered as a separate add-on purchase in order to keep the kit cost a little more affordable.  We love to give you options!  The Rainbow XL die does also coordinate with the stencils in the kit, making it easy for you to color the rainbow by just sponging ink.

This new Sunshine & Rainbows mini kit, along with any other products mentioned as "new" in today's post will be available for purchase beginning at 10pm Eastern on May 15th from the Papertrey Ink website.

Here's a video showcasing the kit contents and also showing how the multi-step rainbow stencil works...

Now for some projects!  This first card uses one of the Soft Stone background papers from the kit - it features the large rainbow, but it's left white so you can add the color with the stencils.  You can make it bright and vibrant, or more soft and muted...whatever fits your style!  I went all out with the color and used Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest, Bright Buttercup, Green Parakeet, and Blueberry Sky, along with Tropical Teal for the clouds.

The stitched cloud die is also included in the kit.  I diecut a few of them and added them around the top of the rainbow, along with one of the pre-printed birds and music notes from the kit.  The sentiment was stamped and diecut using the kit.  There is a small "s" die that can be added to the end of the word "rainbow" giving you more sentiment options.  There is also the small "and" die.  There are a handful of sentiments in the stamp set that will mix and match with these word dies.  I added a few of the iridescent sequins from the kits for a little sparkle.

My next card is stepped up a bit by this time incorporating the XL Rainbow die for more layering.  I sponged ink onto the diecut using the stencils, then went over it with a waterbrush to create a watercolor look.  In the background I watercolored with a bit of Aqua Mist reinker, and then stenciled the heart sunburst using the third stencil included in the kit.

I diecut the swing from the kit papers and hung it from the rainbow.  One of the sweet singing birds is perched on the swing.  A stamped and diecut sentiment from the kit finishes it off, along with a small flower cluster in the bottom corner, also from the kit.

My next card uses another one of the pre-printed papers from the kit -- this one coordinates with the heart sunburst stencil, allowing you to add any colors you wish.  Here I sponged it with Raspberry Fizz and Orange Zest inks.

Sending-sunshine

I diecut a couple of the stitched clouds and also the "sunshine" sentiment.  The "sending" was stamped in black ink using the kit stamps. This patterned paper also has some light dots built into the design, which you can use as a placement guide for adding sequins like I did here.  Are you like me and sometimes fuss around way too long trying to get that perfect "scattered" look?  :-)  Here I did the work for you!

My next card features a softer pastel rainbow.  I used the same ink colors, but just sponged very lightly.  I stenciled the large rainbow onto a panel of Fresh Snow cardstock using the kit stencils.  The I diecut the XL Rainbow and layered it over a Stitched Rectangle and trimmed off the excess to create a panel that could be layered over the background.

I added a few of the cloud diecuts from the kit in the background as well.  The sentiment here is from the Blue Skies set - lots of great sentiments in that set that would go great with this kit, too!  Of course I had to add a few of those sequins from the kit too.  I love those!

This next one uses the heart sunburst stencil, which I inked with a rainbow of ink colors.  I also stenciled a few clouds in the background - there is a cloud built into one of the stencils in the kit.
Rain-rainbow

For the sentiment, I stamped the first and last parts onto diecut clouds and diecut the word "rainbow" from black cardstock to finish if off.  I added some diecut and stamped raindrops, also from the kit, under the clouds.

My last card for today has a much different look, but still uses some of the elements from the Sunshine & Rainbows kit.  I paired the singing bird and swing with the new Garden Garland dies and the Inspired: Praise set.

With-my-song

I watercolored the Garden Garland frame with Fine Linen, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, and Aqua Mist reinkers.  I also watercolored a bit of Aqua Mist in the background.  The swing and music notes were diecut and stamped with the kit stamps.  The bird is a pre-printed diecut from the kit.  I stamped the "with my song..." from the Inspired: Praise set using Classic Kraft ink.  The "praise" was stamped using Amethyst Allure and Aqua Mist inks.  I have a special person in mind to send this too.  :-)

Well, that wraps up my projects showcasing this new mini kit!  It's so much fun to work with - how can you not be happy creating with such bright colors?!
