Introducing Petite Places: Barnyard...

Time for another group post for the Papertrey Ink December countdown!  I'm pretty excited about today's product reveal...a barn for our little Petite Places collection!

There have been lots of requests for a barn, and it's finally here...complete with an assortment of tiny animals, a silo, tractor, a windmill and more.  There's also a a $5 companion sentiment set filled with farm-y sentiments, ranging from classic to punny.  Of course these stamps and dies are designed to allow you to create 3D miniature scenes, as well as flat projects like cards and tags.

The new Petite Places: Barnyard and Barnyard Sentiment stamps and dies, along with any other product mentioned as "new" in today's post will be available for purchase from PapertreyInk.com beginning at 10pm EST on December 15th.

Let's take a look at some projects, but first...I put together a video that will show you how to assemble the barn and silo.

Now let's get on to the projects using the new Petite Places: Barnyard stamps and dies...

My first project is a 3D scene topper for one of the Half Pint containers.  I had so much fun putting together this scene and all of the details!  I know lots of little boys (and maybe big ones too) that would go crazy for this!  Fill it with candy (or maybe some farm animals??) and you'll be their best friend forever.  :-)

I cut a 3/4" square of Dark Chocolate cardstock and added the fences to three sides of it, then tucked it up against the barn.  I put a couple of cows in their pen.  I used the tree die from the Petite Places: Walk in the Park die set to cut one of the trees from the Petite Places patterned paper collection and added it behind the barn.  I also added one of the roads from Walk in the Park, cut from kraft cardstock.  Everything's adhered to a Scene It: Basic Backer cut from Vintage Jadeite cardstock.  I used my finger to coat the open areas of the scene with some liquid glue, then sprinkled with Terratextures for a grassy effect.  The whole thing is attached to the lid of a Half Pint container which is covered in patterned paper cut with the Pint Sized Wrap die.  I tied some rustic twine around the container and attached a tag which was stamped with a punny sentiment from the new Barnyard Sentiments set.

Next I have a coordinating card that combines the new Barnyard Sentiments set with the previously released Shape Up: Barn die.  I created the card base using the die and linen cardstock.  I cut it again from Pure Poppy cardstock for the front.  I diecut just the roof portion again and carefully trimmed just 1/4" or so to use as a roof accent.  The sentiment from Barnyard Sentiments was stamped onto a Jar Labels II diecut.

So kind of funny thing about the doors...I really wanted to add some white trim detailing to the doors, but I was kind of stumped as to what I could use, and feeling too lazy to try to cut and adhere a bunch of strips when I noticed the Cover Plate: Gem Stone die laying on my worktable.  I diecut it from white cardstock and strategically trimmed a couple of the areas and it worked perfectly to add to the doors!

The inside is stamped with a few cows from the previously released On the Farm set and another fun sentiment from the Barnyard Sentiments set.

My next project uses the flat version of the Petite Places: Barnyard set on a card.  I started my scene off with the Cover Plate: Blue Skies and Blue Skies Rays dies.  I hand-cut a strip of New Leaf cardstock to create a grassy hill where I could nestle my farmyard.

I added the barn, complete with hay coming from the hay loft, fences, horse, pig, cow, and windmill.  The sentiment stamped in the clouds is from the Barnyard Sentiments set.

Before I go, I have another You're a Gem card to share.  This one uses the "true love is priceless" sentiment from the set, along with the outline gem images.  I stamped them in jewel tones and then colored with Copics.

When I was finished coloring, I also went over them with some Wink of Stella for a little sparkle.  I inked the background with some Winter Wisteria and Royal Velvet inks and stamped the corner elements using Royal Velvet ink.  I scattered several sequins among the gems too.
