Welcome to the first group post of the June 2104 Papertrey Ink countdown! Today the team is showcasing a new set designed by Nichole called Ombre Builder. Ombre has been a hot trend for a while, and this set makes it super easy to create the look. Plus it's fun to play around with in lots of other ways too. Let me show you a few projects...
My first card uses the triangle strip to create a rainbow ombre effect. I inked the stamp with two different color inks each time I stamped it to create even more of a gradient effect.
I used the 1 3/4" Limitless Layers Circle die to cut a "window" from my background. In the window I placed the "thank you" stamp from the new Thank You Kindly set...I like the way the word Thank You mimics the gradient look by repeating in a gradually smaller font. I included several strips of cardstock along the bottom edge for a finishing touch.
My second card uses the new Ombre Builder set in a slightly different way. This time I didn't use it to build an ombre effect, insetad I used the two square/grid stamps to create a graphic background.
I stamped the two strips in various places, both vertically and horizontally. I stamped the word "happy" from the new Birthday Classics: July set in some of the open areas. The "birthday" sentiment is also from the Birthday Classics: July set. When I was finished stamping I layered a few vellum stars over the top which were cut using the Seeing Stars dies.
Supplies not linked, but available on June 15th from Papertrey Ink: Ombre Builder Stamp set, Thank You Kindly stamp set, Birthday Classics: July stamp set
This was a super fun set to play around with and I hope you enjoyed my little peek at it. There is so much more you can do with it! To see more ideas, be sure to hop around to the other design team gals...
