Wildflower Garden Revisited...

It's the first of the month already!  And it's MAY!!!!  I can hardly believe we have entered the last few weeks of school before summer break...it seems like the year just started.

The first of the month of course means that it's time for another Papertrey Ink Sr Team challenge where we focus on a previously released set, bringing you some fresh inspiration.  This month we are featuring Wildflower Garden.

Wildflower Garden has a classic look that never goes out of style.  It's a great set for quick and easy one-layer cards, but it's also a great set for experimenting with different techniques.  I found a few pieces of inspiration on Pinterest to kick start today's projects.

First is this very serene image.  I love the look and feel of this!

And here is my project inspired by this beautiful image...

Wildflower-pastel

I kept it super simple.  I stamped three of the floral images from Wildflower Garden onto some Vintage Cream cardstock blocks.  I used the rock 'n roll technique to create a shaded effect.  Then I inked the edges lightly by sponging on a bit of Classic Kraft ink.  I clipped a tiny clothespin to each one, then adhered them to a Stamper's Select White background which was impressed with the Diagonals Impression Plate.  Not a one layer card, but still super quick and easy.

My next inspiration piece is a bit bolder...

The image is bolder and I went bolder with my card as well...

Wildflower Bright

I used the same floral images that I used in the first card, but this time stamped onto Stamper's Select White cardstock in bolder ink colors.  Then I fussy cut them (do we need to lobby for dies for this set?!?) and affixed them to a True Black cardstock panel with bits of colorful washi tape.  To mimic the bold chalkboard look of the inspiration image, I heat embossed a sentiment and flourishes from the Mini Blooms set.

I hope you enjoyed this revisit to the old favorite, Wildflower Garden...I know it's been mentioned as a favorite many times on the Papertrey forum!  The other members of the Senior Team have some fresh inspiration using Wildflower Garden as well, so be sure to click on the links and check them out...
