Make It Market: Shakers & Sprinkles Kit + April Release Wrap Up...

Desktop Design...

It's already group post day #2 for the April Papertrey Ink countdown!  This release is just flying by...and I have so much I still need to finish up! yikes!  :-)

Today the team is showcasing projects using a new set called Desktop Design.  This set was designed by Nichole and is full of all sorts of different elements you might find on your desk + lots of great coordinating sentiments.  There are coordinating dies as well.

My favorite image in this set is the typewriter.  How cute is that little guy?! Nichole did a great job designing it.  I couldn't wait to stamp it in Aqua ink.  The coordinating die cuts a little slit in the typwriter so you can slip the little piece of paper in it (also a die included in the set).

Desktop Aqua Hello

I paired my aqua typewriter with the Bigger Blooms set and the diecut "hello" which is new this month from the latest Phrase Play die.

My second project using this set is a quick and easy set of note cards.

Desktop Letterpress Set1

I used the Impression Plate from the Luxe Letterpress kit and stamped the typewriter in the center label portion.

Desktop Letterpress Set7

When I ran the Impression Plate through my machine I also placed the typewriter die in the opening of the Impression Plate so that the outline of the typewritter would be embossed to further the whole "letterpress" look.  After running it through my diecut machine I stamped the typewriter inside its embossed outline and used an xacto knife to handcut the slit to slip the typing paper into. Kinda fun, huh?

When I was finished with the cards I made a really quick wrap for them as well.  I just wrapped a strip of kraft cardstock around the bundle of cards and envelopes.  I wrapped some Orange Zest twine around and created a coordinating tag using the typewriter stamp and die.

Here's a quick shot of how I used the typewriter die inside the Letterpress Impression Plate cut-out...
