Welcome to group post day #2 for the Papertrey Ink September countdown! Today the team is featuring a whole bunch of different products and we are each showcasing two projects -- 1 party favor idea and one gift wrap idea. All of the products I mention as "new" in my post will be available for sale on the Papertrey Ink website at 10pm eastern on September 15, 2012.
So first off, my party favor. One of the new products being release this month is a die called the Tissue Paper Favors #1 die. It is a die that allows you to cut tissue paper into a decorative circle which you can quickly and easily tie around a small gift or treat to create party favors. Add a cute tag and you're all set! Nichole will have more details and a video tutorial on her blog.
I went with a Halloween theme and created these sucker brooms using the new Tissue Paper Favors die. I've seen some variations of the sucker brooms floating around Pinterest and I thought this would be a perfect way to use this new die!
After diecutting the tissue paper and while it was still folded, I cut a small hole in the tip and inserted a sucker stick (which I rubbed with an ink pad to make black), then wrapped twine around the very top and a second time just below the fattest part of the sucker. I added a cute little tag and that's all there was to it! That adorable striped tag base is from a new set being release this month called Do Me a Favor Tags. This striped tag coordinates with the Fillable Frames #7 die. I added the witch boots and a sentiment from Friendship Jar Fall Fillers.
Here is a quick shot of what these look like from the inside...the sucker is way up in there, so the broom just stands up on the tissue paper (I used two layers for each broom). After looking at them this way, I thought it might also be really fun to use them this way, with bright colored tissue paper instead...stick a bunch of them in a vase like this and I'll bet it would look like a beautiful floral bouquet!
For my second project today, Nichole challenged each of us to use the new Essential Pillow Box die. This die is so cute...it's the perfect size to hold a gift card... who doesn't a ton of those for the holidays? This one was quick and easy, using the new Peace, Love & Joy set, which is an adorable $5 set...seriously...how cute is that font? I'm really loving this one.
I stamped the words onto strips of cardstock and heat embossed them with Zing powders. I stamped the "&", punched it out and topped it with an epoxy sticker. I backed it with a small snowflake from the Snowflake Medley set. Oh, and before I did any stamping or assembling of the box, I ran it through my Vagabond with the Simple Stripes Impression Plate.
Thanks for stopping by today! The 15th will be here before you know it! :-) Stop by the other gals to see what sort of wraps and favors they've created!

That's it! Can you adopt me, and can I live at your house? I'm 60 years old, so I'm house trained, and I'll do tasks around the house to earn my keep. Please save one of those darling broomstick pops until I make it to your place.
I'll just need to keep admiring you from afar if you won't take me in......I'll even still call you 'my Betsy'. You're totally the berries!

Loved the witch brooms, making them with the ladies at the nursing home I work at. However we used tan coffee filters instead of the tissue paper due to having a difficult time finding tan tissue paper. It worked out GREAT. Thank you for the wonderful ideas.
