The Papertrey Ink team has a surprise for you today! A third group post for the September countdown! Today the team is featuring projects using the Beautiful Beads collection. The Beautiful Beads collection of products consists of a die and two different paper pads with which you can create paper beads. This product line was first introduced during Stamp-a-Faire and was available exclusively to those who purchased the Stamp-a-Faire totes. This month, the entire collection is being released for sale to the general public. You can see Nichole's video tutorial for creating paper beads using this die HERE. These products will be available for sale on the Papertrey Ink website tonight (Sept 15, 2012) at 10pm eastern time.
So today I get to share a project I created using the Beautiful Beads die and paper pads. I created a gift ensemble that includes a bracelet and matching gift box, along with a coordinating card.
The box is just a simple kraft jewelry box that I dressed up with a felt flower. Notice the paper band...that was created with two of the long triangles from the Beautiful Beads die. I glued the wider ends together and it was a perfect fit for my box.
Here is a close up of my bracelet. To create the beads, I diecut some vintage book pages, which worked well because they were lighter weight, just like the papers in the Beautiful Beads paper packs...they're a bit easier to roll that way, but you can use regular scrapbooking papers too. I added some aqua glass beads and some other rhinestone beads to create my bracelet. This was my first attempt at creating any kind of real jewelry and I had a blast with it!
For my coordinating card, I used the Beautiful Beads die to cut the long triangles for the background. I used papers from the blue/green Beautiful Beads paper pad and mixed in some vintage book papers.
To get a nice coordinated look, I accented the centers of my felt flowers with some of the beads that I used in my bracelet. I added some leaves that were handcut from book pages. The sentiment is from the Tagged Sentiments set.
I hope you enjoyed today's Beautiful Beads projects! Be sure to hop around to the other girls to see what they created! And I'll be back in just a bit with a second post for today!
