Hello and welcome to the first group post day of the July 2012 Papertrey Ink countdown! Today the team is featuring a new stamp set called Shutterbug Special. It's such a fun set, dedicated to the current camera trend. It has a gorgeously detailed vintage camera image (the first instant photo camera!) along with several fun sentiments. There is also a coordinating die with a fun pull-out feature.... just like the original instant camera. All of the new products I'm showing today will be available for purchase from the Papertrey Ink website as of 10pm Eastern on July 15th, 2012.
The projects! Nichole challenged each team member to create a scrapbook page and a card using these new products. Let's talk about the scrapbook page first. I don't scrap as much as I used to and I miss it, so I was happy for the challenge! I chose to work with photos of my youngest daughter's first day of preschool.
Here is a close-up of the camera. I printed the photo of her getting off of the bus small enough so that I could adhere it to the pull-out. I added a second pull-out with the date. I also embellished the camera just a bit with a button and heart diecut.
Here's a shot of the little cluster of goodies in the upper left corner. I love creating these littly embellishment clusters. The "Photo to remember" sentiment is part of the new Shutterbug set. The "K" was diecut with the new Modern Alphabet die. The alphabet border stamped along the left edge is from School Time.
Now for the card. I went with a trendy color combo of Terracotta Tile, Aqua Mist, Spring Rain and a bright yellow (Mustard Seed Distress ink) for this birthday card. I stamped the camera image in these colors onto white cardstock. Then I took the grid pattern from Background Basics: Geometrics and stamped it over the top using Kraft ink. I really like the way that turned out and I'm going to have to try that again! I diecut the edge with Edgers #5.
The layered a diecut and stamped camera over the center image and popped it up with some foam so I could add the diecut pull-out. I embellished with stickers from Crate's Story Teller collection and a clip from Studio Calico.
Here's a shot of the pull-out and the fun birthday sentiment from this set.
That's all for my projects today, but be sure to hop around to the other DT gals to see what they've created with the new Shutterbug products!
