There's more fun Papertrey anniversary fun to be had today! For today's post, Nichole challenged the team to submit a favorite Papertrey color combo to be used in a challenge on her blog. You can see the entire team's combos by visiting Nichole's blog. Then, pick one (or two, or three, or more!) and create a card with it. Submit it to the inlinkz list on Nichole's blog and you just might win the entire Papertrey color collection...cardstock, ribbons, felt, buttons, and ink! WOWZA! That is quite the prize. I'm betting you're going to want to play along. :-)
Here is my combo for the challenge...
I challenged myself to step out of my Aqua/Hibiscus/Poppy box for this assignment and came up with something fresh and springy that I just love! :-) I was inspired by the new What's Up collection by Basic Grey.
It challenged me to pull out some colors from the Papertrey collection that I don't reach for as often as others. i love the result and I really need to play with more colors more often!
Here's the card I created...and yes, it was totally inspired by that floral paper in the lower left corner of the image above!
I combined all sorts of different floral sets and really mixed things up. On some of the flowers, the stamp I used don't match the diecut. I wanted the flowers to have a really fun and funky feel to them. The leaves in the background are from Delightful Dahlia and I embossed them with white powder onto Kraft, then watercolored some of them with Twinkling H2Os. After I had the background completely finished, I ran it through my Vagabond with the Linen/Canvas Impression plate so it almost resembles a lush fabric.
It was definitely fun to step out of my color box. I hope this challenge inspires you to do the same! I hope you'll play along. It could pay off in a big, big way! :-)

Cool card! I like how you changed it up with the dies and non-matching images.
