It's been a fun week in Paper Crafts magazine land. If you've been following along with the Paper Crafts Connection and Moxie Fab World blogs, then you've probably seen all of the fun peeks of the newest special issue...

We think not.
I got my issue in the mail the other day and it's just plain FUN! So many fun cards for so many different occasions...the biggies (Christmas, Easter, Halloween, etc...) and the little ones (National Lollipop Day, anyone??). Let's just say this issue was a blast to work on.
Well today is a fun day too. Twelve designers from this issue are showing brand new cards today!

Probably not. :-)
Each of the designers on the hop is featuring a month of the year. I'm Miss October. I'd probably better enjoy that title because I'm pretty sure this as close as I'm going to get. :-)
When I think of October the first thing that comes to mind is PUMPKINS! They are everywhere during the month of October and I just love the bright spot they give throughout the month.
So, meet my little punkin.
I thought this would be a fun card to give to a child or grandchild any time during the month of October...versatile enough to not be limited to Halloween. It could even be used for an October birthday, don't you think? I created the shaped card base using the the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge and my Gypsy. I love how easy it is to create shaped cards with the Cricut/Gypsy combo.

This book looks like it is a must have for the craft library.

My favorite thing about October (insert big grin) is its my birthday month...the 13th....but I also love the color changes here in Michigan....the feed corn is always standing high...tractors running up and down the road...and pumpkin patches...and not to forget all the yummy pumpkin food!!

I love October because the weather starts cooling down and we can have SOUPS and CASSEROLES! Tortilla, White Chili, Chili, Vegetable Beef, Spicy Cheesy Spinach, Green Chili Chicken!! I love the warm feeling of eating good soups!!

It's cold enough to Drink hot chocolate! I never drink coffee and tea only rarely and hot choc would just be weird in the summer!

My favorite things about October are the beautiful leaves that show up on all three trees (reds, yellows, browns). (Which brings up my least favorite thing about November - picking up all of those leaves).

My favorite thing about October is pumpkins. Their range of sizes, variety of orange hues and more-or-less round shapes are so pleasing. Plus they are such a nice reward at the end of a long and productive gardening season. I fondly recall my Dad and his attempts at growing giant pumpkins. Some grew to be fairly large, at least by Vermont standards! For me, they are one of my favorite images of the entire autumn season!

I love the fall...it's my favorite time of year and I find that 2/3 of my scrapbook is filled with memories from the last 1/3 of the year! We start with our Anniversary on October 29th, Halloween, Thanksgiving, lots of birthdays, Chanukah, Christmas and New Years Eve! Who wouldn't love it!
