Good evening! It's the first Group Post day for Papertrey Ink's October release! Today the team is featuring a new stamp set and coordinating dies called In the Meadow. I am absolutely in love with these silhouette images! This new set and its coordinating dies will be available for purchase from Papertrey Ink's website on October 15th.
For today's project I decided to create a set of holiday frames. I have a few of these sort of framed pieces hanging around my home that were purchased, but I decided it would be fun to try my hand at making a set using the new In the Meadow products. I picked up some basic black frames -- the larger two are 4x6 frames and the smaller one is 3 1/2 x 2 1/2.
They were very easy to create. I diecut the images from Chalkboard Vinyl...you could use any type of vinyl, but I had this on hand. I like the thickness of it as well as the color which is sort of a matte black/deep gray -- very close to Smokey Shadow. The sentiments were added by stamping directly onto the glass with Versamark, then embossing with black powder. The snowflakes in the background were also done this way, but with some Silver Pearl embossing powder I had in my drawer. :-) The glass gets very hot, so be careful when doing this step!
I plan to display them on a side table I have in my dining room. I thought they looked cute set up in this vintage wooden tray. I'm going to have to find some fun greenery and berries to twine around them.
I also decided I wanted to make a set of postcards using the stamp set and dies.
I stamped the tree image several times in the background with Latte ink, then layered the 3 different size snowflakes over the top with Pure Poppy ink. The sentiment was added with True Black ink and the postmark (from the Postmarks set) was added up in the corner with Smokey Shadow. I thought these would be fun to toss in with a gift or just to send as a note during the holidays.
Thanks for stopping by tonight! I hope you're enjoying all of the countdown festivities. The holiday months are always my favorite! Now be sure to hop around to the other team members to see what they've created with the new In the Meadow stamps and dies!

I love this idea! Inexpensive and so easy to do. I'm going to have to copy this, but of course that means I'm first going to have to buy the dies! And I love the idea of twining greenery around the bases. Very nice. Thanks for sharing.
