It's the first group post for the Papertrey Ink September countdown! Today the team is working with a new set called Love Lives Here: Holiday based on a concept by Melissa Phillips. It puts a holiday spin on her original Love Lives Here stamp set. It's filled with charming images and lots of great sentiments. It will be available for purchase from Papertrey Ink's website on September 15th.
For my projects today I chose to work with the garland and ornament images from the set. I created a framed piece that would make a great holiday gift along with a coordinating card. I've been loving creating framed pieces lately. I pick up these great little black frames at our dollar store for $3.50, so they make nice looking, yet inexpensive gifts. It's all what you put inside the frame!
I created the background using kraft cardstock on which I stamped the garland using Tea Dye Distress ink. I also stamped one of the hearts in a darker distress ink, and the cluster of three hearts using Pure Poppy.
The focal image was stamped on Vintage Cream cardstock which I ran through my Big Shot using the Linen and Canvas Impression Plate. I then stamped the the greenery using Simply Chartreuse ink, then filled in with one of the single branches using Always Artichoke ink (Stampin' Up!) which I stamped off once so it wasn't so dark. I added lots of glitter to the brances and some rustic bells. I dangled some strands of hearts and finished it off with a fitting sentiment. I really love the sentiments in this set...they could inspire so many different projects.
For the coordinating card I pulled out the original Love Lives Here set and paired it with one of the senitments from the new Holiday set.
I stamped the greenery the same way I did on the frame. I filled in around the edges with some Fancy Flourishes stamped with Latte ink (A Muse Studio). I added some glitter to the branches as well as some of the clustered hearts stamped with Pure Poppy.
I really enjoyed working with this set and I hope you enjoyed today's projects! Hop around to the rest of the team to see what they've cooked up with the new Love Lives Here: Holiday set!
