Happy 2011! It's the first of the month and that means it's Papertrey Sr. Team challenge time! This month the team was challenged to create something using Love Songs...an adorable valentine-y set by Lisa Johnson. This set is filled with adorable images and sentiments. One of my favorite things from the set is the "l-o-v-e" letters with the big heart for an "o". Since the letters are seperate images, it's fun to play around with stamping them in different ways. I used them to stamp on some Tag Sale #1 diecuts to attach them to some lollipop flowers made with the Bloom Builders #1 die.
These are fun and simple treats...easy to make and very inexpensive...you can make a ton for the kids to hand out to classmates, etc.
Here's a close up of the stamped tag....using all images from the Love Songs set.
I've put together a little step-by-step in case you'd like to try to make your own.
Start out by diecutting the smallest Bloom Builder die from patterned paper.
Then diecut the scallop circle from the Love Lives Here die set. Stamp the heart image from Love Songs onto the diecut (it fits perfectly!). Punch a hole in the center.
Insert the lollipop stick into the punched hole.
Now thread the Bloom Builder holes with twine and before you gather it tight, insert the sucker stick. Then pull the strings tight and tie to secure.
Now insert the lollipop stick into the hole in the diecut tag.
Use a bit of scotch tape to secure the stick to the backside of the tag.
That's all there is to it! Pretty simple! Now be sure to check out the other DT members to see what they've whipped up for you using Love Songs...

Totally ingenious! I may have to steal you idea of the lollipops with the flower dies for my own daughter's valentines! So cute and a great way to use up some patterned paper that I overbought. :)
