Hey there! Wow, it's been a bit CRAZY! We made it safely back from our trip out to the east coast and D.C. We had the BEST time...we did so much, saw so many things, made so many great memories. It was great to reconnect with family we haven't seen for four years...they fell head over heals for our little Katie-bugs, who they had never even gotten to meet until this past week. We had to check and double check that she made it on the airplane back home with us and they didn't try to sneak her back home with them when we weren't looking....'cuz she would've stayed. :-)
I just had to share just a few of my very favorite photos with you...
Two of my sweeties..so excited for their first plane ride...
Taking in some incredible views of things that up until now they had only seen in books...
Taking a break on the backside of the Lincoln Memorial...the front side is swarming with people. The backside? Absolutely peaceful with an incredible view...
Catching some jellies on our first ever trip to the ocean (don't worry...they didn't have any tenticles)...
A first reaction to the dinosaur bones at the Museum of Natural History...
I have so many more...but I won't bore you. :-)
Now for some projects, huh? How about some Papertrey August release projects?
First off, Leaf Prints...
for the bow I stitched some Hibiscus and Scarlett Jewel ribbon together to make a wider ribbon. I then scrunched it a bit and sprayed it with some glimmer mist...
Next is Take Three: Fall. I created the large focal point leaf by cutting through several layers of vintage pattern tissue using one of the new leaf dies...
Next is Falling Leaves...
I combined it with a few other sets...Up, Up, and Away for the clouds, 2009 Autumn Tags, and Bird Watching...
Next is Friendship Jar Fall Fillers...
I couldn't resist the 5 cent eyeball stamp and I created these fun eyeballs from vintage buttons and black gems.
Next is Gobble, Gobble and Places, Please. I used the Favor It #1 die to create this little basket. The feathers of the turkey are made from pieces of twill...
And then there's Been Boo'd...
I created a small treat pocket using the Library Card Pocket die. It is just large enough to hold a few small treats...suckers, a chocolate bar, whatever your heart desires.
And finally, Year of Flowers: Gladiolus...
Whew. That was a lot of projects. You can see complete supply lists for all of the projects by visiting my Papertrey Ink gallery here.
And just to warn you...it might be a little quiet around here for the next week or so. Not sure if you remember me mentioning way back in April that we were remodling our kitchen a bit. Well, that project is finally about to be finished...the contractors called a few days before we left for vacation that they were ready to do their part (of course!!!), so now we've torn everything apart and let's just say our house is a bit upside down. My refrigerator is in the living room, my cabinets have been dismantled and are being repainted and I have a stove in my dining room. So....if you don't see me here for awhile...that's where I've disapeared to. Wish me luck.

Oh, Betsy, you did it again! I love your cards - your work is so inspiring!! And thanks for sharing photos of your trip - I am not bored :)

Your leaf print cards are beautiful!!! I have seen them all last week on the other blogs but was kind of iffy (that's IS a word) about getting them. Now that I see yours, they are definately more in my style. So pefect for some non-traditional fall cards.
Thanks for the inspiration!
xx

What adorable projects. But my favorite photo what the one of your little cutie in yellow being awed by the size of a dinosaur! lol I'll bet she had no idea how big they actually were until that day. Thanks so much for sharing a bit of your life with us. I love looking at other's vacation or trip pix, because I am house bound taking care of my mom.
So when people share these things, I get to go see too! Thanks again.
