Apron strings...

Aprong-Strings-Card-2

Hello all....we are having a wonderful week here.  I feel like I am finally, for once, caught up.  Ahhh...what a nice feeling.  But then panic hits.  Because chances are, when I feel caught up it's  because I'm forgetting something.  I'm sure I'll remember what that thing is just before we head out the door Friday morning for a weekend away.  YES!  A weekend away for us...no kids, no responsibilities and really no plans.  We have a place to stay, but that's about it so far!! I might have to go check out the movie list and see if there's anything we need to see.  Any recommendations?  Might have to squeeze in a little shopping too.

Just thought I'd come and share a few things with you tonight.  First off, I was asked to be this month's guest designer for Melissa Frances.  Oh what fun.  You all know I love little vintage goodies, so this was such a treat.  You can hop on over to the Melissa Frances blog if you want to read a little more about boring old me, or just peek at a few projects.  Here is one of my favorites...

Aprong-Strings-Card

I used their round scalloped diecut paper to create the apron.  I just cut the circle in half, then again in half and again, until I had a 1/8 section of the circle (think about slicing up your favorite pizza.....darn...now I'm hungry...).  I cut off the top (point) of the slice, then fan-folded it along the scallops.  I put a strip of adhesive along the top to attach my ribbon.  Then I cut a little top for the apron from another "slice" of my scalloped paper, using just two of the scallops.  I adhered it to the apron skirt, then adhered the entire apron to my card.  The little flower embellishment was made using their tissue paper....boy...that's fun stuff to play around with.  I've had a ball with it!

I'll share more of my Melissa Frances projects later this week or next...  :-)

And then I have a Papertrey card for you tonight using the Through the Trees set that was released last month..  I made this a soft and soothing sympathy card...
