Hello lovely ladies. It's my favorite time again...Papertrey countdown time. Where do the months go? I'm still trying to figure out where October went and it's heading towards the middle of November!
The Papertrey gals have some fun stuff in store for you tonight. Cards using the new Communique Curves and Sentiments sets. I love fonts and typography and all that jazz, so if you're like me, you'll love playing with this set. I could've played all day! So many possibilities. I love that it's a holiday set, but then there's the little extra sentiment set, that when combined the two give you almost endless possibilities for combinations. Definitely some serious play time.
Nichole challenged the design team to create two cards...first a holiday card, then take the same design, switch it up a bit and create an everyday card. I kept it nice and simple, so if you haven't started your holiday cards yet (me? who me? no.....never.), this is super fast and easy with minimal supplies.
I added a flourish from Fancy Flourishes along with a few of the tiny snowflakes from Winter Swirls...
Stamps: Communique Curves, Fancy Flourishes, Winter Swirls (snowflakes)
Ink: Ripe Avocado, Aqua Mist, Pure Poppy
Cardstock: Rustic Cream
Other: Rustic Snowflakes patterned paper, red gems, Pure Poppy button, Aqua Mist Top Notch Twill, Fiskars Apron Lace border punch, Cuttlebug embossers, Rustic Cream button twine
And here is my everyday version....a birthday card. I used the balloons from Everyday Button Bits....
Some fun Cuttlebug embossing along the top edge finishes it off....
Stamps: Communique Curves, Communique Sentiments, Everyday Button Bits
Ink: Smokey Shadow, Aqua Mist, Orange Zest, Hibiscus Burst
Cardstock: Rustic Cream
Other: Bitty Dot Basics patterned paper, Orange Zest, Hibiscus and Aqua Mist buttons, Aqua Mist twill, Cuttlebug embossers
Alrighty!! Fun stuff. Now take a tour around the other Design Team blogs and be inspired. I'm off to check them out too...

Love the embossed look.

Your interpretation of this challenge is my favorite! The cards are simple and fun - easily recognizable as yours. I'm curious how you emboss just the top of the card at the fold - does the back get embossed, too? Thanks!

These cards are beautiful! With the ribbon, they look just like a package. I am wondering too, how you embossed just the top part of your card without getting an impression from the edge of the embossing folder? Thanks!

Betsy, I always love your cards but these are just extra pretty today! I really like how you used the soft circular image to "ground" the sentiments and images--it's a pretty touch that I'm going to try. Colors and embossing are perfect! Love em, love em, LOVE em!
PS--Thought of you and your kids went I went post-Halloween costume sale shopping!
Have a great day!

Those cards are absolutely beautiful! I'd love to know how you managed to emboss the top only. Would you share your secret? Pleeeease!!!!

Love the cards Betsy. ? for you though, how did you run a small, middle section of your card base through a cuttlebug folder? Love the look of the embossed section versus the whole card.

Soooooo darling! Love both of these - and I too would be interested in knowing how you embossed just the top of the cards...such a great look!
