Hi all! So sorry for the lack of posting this week! It's been crazy around here and I have been limping my poor computer along for the last few days. I think it's on it's last leg, so in between crashes I have been trying to get everything backed up! It makes my stomach sick to think of losing all of my precious photos, so it's worth the extra time, but what a pain in the neck! :-)
But, I'm happy to say I have been working away and I've got lots to show you over the next week or so. Let's kick it off with a fun project I have to share with you tonight. The November Papertrey release is fast approaching and the design team has been busily working on lots of things! Nichole challenged up to each create a fun teacher's gift using her new Teacher's Apple set, debuting in just a few days. I love this set and all of it's possibilities! Those patterned apples are just too darn cute. :-)
The sentiment I used on this project really caught my eye and I thought it would be fun to do a little play on the quote and make a cute potted plant for teacher's desk.
I took one of the small clear paint cans, lined it with pencils. I know what you're thinking...that's a LOT of pencils! But, I picked them up at the dollar store for $1/pack of 40... that makes for a pretty cute and inexpensive embellishment for your little paint can!.
To make it super simple I put a strip of double-sided tape along the inside of the can, then just cut the pencils down to size using a clipper, and adhered them to the tape. The band around the outside of the can covers the tape.
And then there's just a little thank you notecard to finish it off. I used the "thank" from the Warm Hospitality set
Stamps: Teacher's Apple, Warm Hospitality
Ink: Pure Poppy, Ocean Tides, Ripe Avocado, Spring Moss
Cardstock: Ocean Tides, Pure Poppy, Ripe Avocado, Spring Moss
Patterned Paper: Polka Dot Parade
Ribbon: Ripe Avocado Twill
Other: Paint Can, buttons, pencils, scallop scissors, Scrapper's Floss
Be sure to check out the rest of the Papertrey gang to see what everyone else came up with!

This is so adorable! I'll have to check and see if I have Warm Hospitality, too. I have so much PTI I couldn't say off the top of my head if I already own it.
